On December 20th, The Factory in Minneapolis invited everyone out for their first ever Minnesota Mayhem BMX jam and Team Contest that Kenny Short organized. It was definitely a different approach than most BMX contests in the world. The concept was pretty straight forward. Have six of the youngest riders at the contest take turns picking team mates of all ages and skills, then they would go head to head on three different sections of the park. Each team had their own jam, racking up points that would be calculated toward one score as a team.

TCFF 1st Place on the Podium !! TCFF Co-Founder Dustin Grice Wins Lake Havasu Pro Dirt Challenge in Arizona
TCFF Co-Founder Dustin Grice and our show announcer Jeff “JMC” Mclearen headed out to a large pro dirt contest in Arizona this past weekend to compete with some of their friends Aj Anaya, Big Daddy, Victor Salazar, Colton Satterfield, Josh Hult, Ben Voyles, and many others. The contest was a fundraiser for a local rider who was killed in the military, and the city is building a memorial skatepark in honor of him. We love seeing parks go up in other cities, keeps our sport growing !
After a battle through the windy qualifiers, Dustin managed to make it into the finals by one spot.. 10th place. But that didn’t slow him down at all… Taking the first run in the finals, Dustin threw down a solid run with his signature “***** dropper” trick, a 360 topside no footed cancan to late downside/opposite tailwhip. After a solid first run, he threw down another run of bangers which can been seen in the video above.
The contest was based on the average of the two best runs out of three for each rider. Dustin changed it up in his last run and tailwhip the roll in (photo below, and the only on to even trick the roll in), 360 the first set, 360 invert the second set, 270 cancan tire grab into the hip, and 360 opposite whip on the last set.
The competition wasn’t easy though, especially with Voyles throwing down backflip barspin to tuck no handers on the first set, flip whips on the last set, and Josh Hult with opposite double tailwhips and 360 double downside tailwhips..
However 3 solid runs and a handful of bangers brought Dustin and TCFF the 1st place spot on the podium.
This isn’t Dustin’s first win this year either, check out his bio below from the event handouts…

NFL Minnesota Vikings Player Jerome Simpson joins the The Factory !
Yes you read that right ! Minnesota Viking’s hottest new wide receiver, Jerome Simpson is now shredding with us at The Factory.. Straight from North Carolina & recently playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, the 26 year old 6 foot + athlete is now living in Minnesota & pumped our rad sport of BMX. He’s rockin a 24″ Sunday Model C AM bike !
And you didn’t think action sports could cross over into football… Check out the video below of Jerome & his front flip touchdown… Look at the uppps !!!! Hugeeeee turnout for our first public open house after 18 months special thanks Chipotle Mexican Grill, Vitaminwater, US AiRBAG & all of our partners, Troy Mozey, everyone who stopped by, & especially all the keyholders & families who keep our place alive. We were pushin 500 total people & kids throughout the day, 150+ riders, mountain bike/freeriders, 3 new keyholders chipping in for rent, perfect weather & bright blue skies, and indoor & outdoor riding allll dayyy longgg in Minneapolis right next to our neighbors on the golf course Massivebox, ledges, kickers.. Thanks again for all the support #midwestbmxscenekillinit

A big thanks to Fargo this weekend !! Check out the video Tristan created.. A few riders from the Factory rode the contest as well, Tristan finished 3rd Place in expert, Joel Lange 1st in Beginner and Abduhl 2nd in Beginner ! Also the little 10 year old cutie Dallas Light was out there shredding the intermediate class. Tristan even made the local news !!

That’s right ! Actually since we’ve been open we’ve had a ton of interest from mountain bikes/freeriders and you are welcome to join !! There is almost no where you can easily go to and ride a good large box and quarter resi and foam pit in the midwest, and very few in the entire country. Feel free to come ride ours ! While Tristan was in California, Dustin took him to Ben Snowden’s Backyard.. Ben is a well known pro rider who has his own skate park in his backyard that many of the local pros ride at. Tristan took some video during the session & interviewed Ben and also Danial Sandoval, who has recently invented and landed two of the most difficult tricks in the sport..
